A statement about hand-made art

A statement about hand-made art

This is a post that was originally inspired by my experience on Etsy, which once was known for specializing in products made by individual creators.  For a while it has largely been taken over by large corporations and small corporations selling factory made products and calling them 'hand made'.  The examples are too numerous to cite, but feel free to take a look for yourself.  Here is the statement that I am adding to all of my product listings.

This is partially why I have discontinued tee-shirts, stickers, and prints.  I will continue to focus on what is most important, and that is the creative process of making art through the actual medium of the art itself.  To be clear, I do use modern technolgy in the marketing of my art....this is a website afterall.

I may start adding this statement at the end of the image slides of the art on this website as well.

As always, thanks for reading, and stopping by!

If your painting doesn't begin and end here, then it is not art.
